  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Many heroin addicts that are admitted to drug treatment centers have been scared straight by a recent overdose from the drug.
  • A record breaking drug seizure was made in 2008 by the DEA of 262 tons of hashish, pointing to the fact that the drug is very much in demand.
  • Individuals who use Ecstasy always run the risk of taking two other potentially toxic substances known as MDA and PMA, which are similar to Ecstasy but much more toxic and have been responsible with fatalities in the United States and Australia.
  • Individuals who extract the fentanyl from a time release patch and consume it all at once are receiving far too much of the drug at one time than was ever legitimately intended.
  • Fevers associated with drug withdrawal should be monitored closely to ensure that this is not the result of an underlying infection, which should be treated immediately.

Dui/Dwi Offender Programs

DUI/DWI offenders are often required to attend a certain number of hours either in counseling, meetings or a drug or alcohol rehab program. Each state has its own requirements when it comes to retribution for the DUI/DWI offender. Offenders who are regarded as low to moderate DUI/DWI offenders will typically be required to participate in some form of group counseling or therapy. These are sometimes referred to as "Level I & Level II Alcohol Classes". These group meetings are typically held by a professional in the field of addiction recovery or a person with long-term sobriety involved in the Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous groups. DUI/DWI offenders deemed to be serious offenders will likely have to serve jail time at a minimum before beginning their mandatory counseling or substance abuse rehab program.
