  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • About 2 percent of American high school seniors have used heroin at least once in their lifetime, and nearly half of those injected the drug.
  • Contaminants commonly found in PCP can include unreacted piperidine and other precursors as well as carcinogens like benzene and cyanide-like compounds.
  • Because many addicts will simply choose to take more fentanyl to ease symptoms, it is always best to undergo fentanyl withdrawal with the help of professional treatment counselors or medical professionals who can help ease symptoms and cravings for the drug.
  • Among employed Americans aged 18 or older in 2010, over 8 percent of those employed full time and over 11 percent of those employed part time were current illicit drug users.
  • Inhalant abuse may result in nerve damage as it acts directly on the central nervous system.

Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol rehabilitation programs which are delivered on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to participate in an inpatient treatment facility. An outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation center offers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug treatment center where the person is expected to remain at the rehab center until the treatment process has been fully completed. Outpatient drug rehab is also offered for individuals who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but also need a comprehensive aftercare program which will offer additional support and therapy to help them avoid relapse.
