  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • The number of Vicodin overdoses has risen dramatically in the United States, because the drug is much cheaper and some insurance plans do not cover the more expensive prescription pain medications.
  • Ecstasy users who combine the drug with other drugs including alcohol increase their risk of negative effects from the drug or even death.
  • Anabolic steroid users sometimes commit aggressive acts, such as physical fighting.
  • Ecstasy is often used along with psychedelic drugs, such as LSD or psilocybin mushrooms, or even common drugs such as cannabis.
  • The risk of a drug overdose is always greater when using illicit street drugs, because the user can never be sure how strong the drug is that they are taking; ultimately, this can lead to serious, or even fatal consequences.

Residential Short-Term Treatment that is 30 days or less

Residential short-term treatment for drug or alcohol addiction is a variety ofrehabilitation program where the addicted individual will remain at the facility on an inpatient basis, and which usually requires a stay of 30 days or less. While in residential short-term treatment the recovering addict undergoes an intensive but short duration of treatment that usually includes a supervised detox, counseling, and other forms of therapy which are aimed at helping the person to recover and be able to function without drugs in daily life once rehab is complete. Residential short-term treatment is not always effective for all instances of addiction, and most will require an aftercare program or further treatment in a more long-term residential setting.
