  • Almost 34% of 8th graders surveyed in 2008 reported that trying inhalants once or twice was a "great risk".
  • According to a current government study that covered a 5-year period, the increasing number of opiate-related unintentional drug overdose deaths can be attributed to individuals who hop from doctor to doctor in order to get multiple prescriptions.
  • Bath Salts which are sold and marketed in the U.S. commonly have benign names such as "Cloud Nine" or "Vanilla Sky", a tactic the DEA believes has been a contributing factor in individuals assuming that these substances are safe.
  • Amphetamine and methamphetamine are legally manufactured in tablet form in the U.S. and can be prescribed by a physician.
  • GHB rape cases are nearly impossible to prosecute primarily because victims have very little memory of what actually took place after they knowingly or unknowingly ingested the substance.

Other Language Programs

Those who speak other languages, other than English that is, should receive substance abuse rehabilitation which is on par with English speakers. Speakers of other languages should not feel that their treatment opportunities are limited or inferior because they don't speak English. There are many substance abuse rehabilitation programs available which provide services to those who speak foreign languages, all of which provide a variety of programs to choose from. For example, some drug treatment programs which cater to individuals who speak other languages are only short term programs, but there are more long term options available. Foreign language speakers should seek the advice from a treatment professional in their area to choose a drug rehabilitation program which would be suitable to their needs.
