  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Around 10% of a dose of PCP is removed by the kidneys, which would make increased urinary clearance ineffective.
  • Chronic methamphetamine use will almost always result in a tolerance to the drug, and users often try to intensify the desired effects by taking higher doses more frequently or changing the method of administration.
  • Gay males who are methamphetamine users are particularly at risk of acquiring a sexually transmitted disease as a result of their methamphetamine use.
  • Crack cocaine does not produce the same intensity of withdrawal symptoms seen in heroin withdrawal, but it is extremely addictive and users who cease using the drug may experience severe drug craving, depression, and lethargy.
  • According to some of the latest research by the Center for Disease Control, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of drug overdose deaths that are related to prescription painkillers throughout the U.S.

Limited Hospitalization/Day Treatment Programs

Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of treatment program which works to treat substance abuse issues and mental health conditions which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the individual in treatment takes part in various recovery activities and techniques during the day and then returns home in the evening. This takes place anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the severity of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for addicted individuals who may not be able to afford long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be away from their families for extended periods of time. While in Day Treatment, clients participate in standard counseling and therapy for addiction issues while also addressing mental health troubles which could prevent them from making progress and obtaining gains throughout the treatment process.
