  • High rates of current illicit drug use among individuals aged 50-59 is primarily due to the aging baby boomer generation who typically have higher rates of illicit drug use.
  • Individuals who abuse anabolic steroids sometimes take doses that are 10 to 100 times higher than the amount of the drug that has been prescribed by a doctor for medical reasons.
  • Because many addicts will simply choose to take more fentanyl to ease symptoms, it is always best to undergo fentanyl withdrawal with the help of professional treatment counselors or medical professionals who can help ease symptoms and cravings for the drug.

Limited Hospitalization/Day Treatment Programs

Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of recovery program which works to treat substance abuse problems and mental health issues which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the individual in treatment takes part in a variety of recovery activities and techniques during the day and then returns home in the evening. This takes place anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the seriousness of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for addicted individuals who may not be able to afford long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be away from their families for prolonged periods of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals participate in typical counseling and therapy for addiction issues while also addressing mental health issues which could keep them from staying sober once treatment is complete.
