  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Alcohol destroys brain cells and unlike many other types of cells in the body, brain cells cannot regenerate themselves.
  • Ecstasy use causes a release of excess levels of the brain chemical known as dopamine, but to a much lesser extent than serotonin.
  • A drug detox will remove any remnants of Lortab from the body, and drug treatment staff and medical professionals at a drug rehab facility can make Lortab withdrawal a much safer and smoother process.
  • About half of PCP users brought to emergency rooms report significant elevations in anxiety symptoms.
  • Drug-induced changes in brain function directly affects the way an addicted individual exerts control over the impulse to use drugs despite the negative consequences-the defining characteristic of drug addiction.

Outpatient Treatment

Drug treatment services which are offered on an outpatient basis are available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehab facility. An outpatient drug treatment program delivers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehab center where the individual is required to remain at the treatment facility until treatment is complete. Outpatient drug or alcohol treatment is also offered for individuals who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but also need a thorough aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide further support and therapy to help them remain clean and sober.
