  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Currently in the United States, West Virginia is reported to be the state with the highest drug overdose death rates; additionally, the state of South Dakota is reported to have the lowest drug overdose death rate.
  • Cocaine use may cause loss of appetite, extreme insomnia and sexual problems, heart disease, heart attacks, respiratory failure, strokes, seizures, and gastrointestinal problems.
  • Overdose of OxyContin is serious and may require hospitalization. Occasionally, the individual needs to be temporarily hooked to a ventilator to help him breathe until the OxyContin wears off.
  • Because individuals cannot naturally produce the feelings which the body registers as rewarding after taking Adderall, the drug can become an addiction because the individual wants to experience these feelings again and more often.
  • As Opana withdrawal worsens, individuals may experience more intense drug withdrawal symptoms such as severe depression, insomnia, diarrhea, restlessness, loss of appetite, body aches, severe abdominal pain, nausea, tremors, and an even more stronger and intense craving for the drug.

Outpatient Treatment

Drug rehabilitation services which are provided on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehab facility. An outpatient drug rehab facility delivers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug or alcohol rehabilitation facility where the person is required to stay and reside at the treatment facility until treatment is complete. Outpatient drug rehab is also offered for individuals who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but require a comprehensive aftercare program which will offer further support and treatment to help them remain clean and sober.
