  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Cocaine is a powerfully addictive central nervous system stimulant which can be snorted, injected, or smoked.
  • Because of the depression of the central nervous system as a result of heroin use, mental functioning can become clouded while high on the drug.
  • The drug overdose epidemic is centered in middle-aged America; because this particular population is "not supposed to abuse drugs"; the media virtually ignores this dire situation.
  • Ecstasy is often used along with psychedelic drugs, such as LSD or psilocybin mushrooms, or even common drugs such as cannabis.
  • Individuals who are heroin addicted sometimes intentionally induce withdrawal symptoms to reduce their tolerance for the drug, only in an attempt to once again experience the rush when they start taking the drug again.

Dui/Dwi Offender Programs

DUI/DWI offenders are typically required to enroll in a specific number of hours either in counseling, meetings or a drug or alcohol treatment program. Each state has its own requirements when it comes to retribution for the DUI/DWI offender. Offenders who are considered to be low to moderate DUI/DWI offenders will typically be required to participate in some form of group counseling or therapy. These group meetings are often held by a professional in the field of addiction recovery or a person with long-term sobriety involved in the Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous groups. DUI/DWI offenders deemed to be serious offenders will likely have to serve jail time at a minimum before beginning their assigned counseling or alcohol rehabilitation program.
