  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Ecstasy was first synthesized in 1914 by a drug company in Germany called Merck.
  • The prescription medications that are most commonly reported to be linked to accidental or intentional drug overdose deaths in the United States include, but are not limited to Soma, Oxycontin, Vicodin and Xanax; one of the most potent drugs that is a relative newcomer to the prescription drug scene in Fentanyl.
  • The substances that are most commonly detected in drug overdose post-mortem examinations are opiates, but they are very seldom the only substance that is found.
  • Inhalant abuse may result in a loss of sensation in the body and loss of consciousness.
  • Ambien use can cause the users to carry on full conversations while actually asleep, and be able to respond as though they were fully awake, while being obviously incoherent and having no relevance to the current situation.

Dui/Dwi Offender Programs

DUI/DWI offenders are typically required to participate in a certain number of hours either in counseling, meetings or a substance abuse rehab program. Each state has its own requirements when it comes to retribution for the DUI/DWI offender. Offenders who are deemed low to moderate DUI/DWI offenders will typically engage in some form of group counseling or therapy. These are sometimes referred to as "Level I & Level II Alcohol Classes". These meetings are typically held by a professional in the field of addiction recovery or a person with long-term sobriety involved in the Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous groups. DUI/DWI offenders deemed to be serious offenders will likely have to serve jail time at a minimum before beginning their assigned counseling or alcohol rehab program.
