  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Heavy use of GHB will result in loss of consciousness, irregular and depressed respiration, tremors, or coma.
  • Crack is made by dissolving powdered cocaine with water and ammonia or baking soda, which is then boiled until a solid substance forms. The solid is removed from the liquid, dried, and then broken into the chunks (rocks) that are sold as crack cocaine.
  • You should never break, chew, or crush the OxyContin tablet since this causes a large amount of oxycodone to be released from the tablet all at once, potentially resulting in a dangerous or fatal OxyContin overdose.
  • Crack is typically sold in small vials, folding papers, or in foil packets and usually contains one to four rocks for an average of $10 - $20.
  • About five percent of people in the U.S. who abuse prescription pain relievers report getting them from a drug dealer or on the Internet.

Residential Short-Term Treatment that is 30 days or less

Residential short-term treatment for drug or alcohol addiction is a type oftreatment program where the individual will reside at the facility on an inpatient basis, and which normally requires a stay of 30 days or less. While attending residential short-term treatment the client undergoes an intensive but short duration of treatment that typically includes a supervised detox, counseling, and other forms of therapy which are aimed at helping the individual become rehabilitated and able to function without drugs in daily life once rehabilitation is complete. Residential short-term treatment is not always effective for all scenarios of addiction, and most will require an aftercare program or additional treatment in a more long-term residential facility.
