  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Extended use of Xanax can lead to physical drug dependence, even when it is taken at the prescribed doses.
  • Dilaudid addicted individuals who only go through medically assisted detox and withdrawal and get no further treatment have outcomes that are about the same as those who never attended a drug rehab.
  • Hashish users sometimes use the drug as a form of self-medication, particularly for social anxiety.
  • Methadone overdoses have skyrocket in the United States, because the drug is much cheaper and some insurance plans do not cover the more expensive prescription pain medications.
  • When an individual is not highly educated about all aspects of methadone use, including knowing about the way that the drug builds up in the body, they will be at risk for experiencing a potentially fatal overdose.

Limited Hospitalization/Day Treatment Programs

Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of rehabilitation program which works to treat substance abuse issues and mental health conditions which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the individual in treatment takes part in various treatment activities and techniques during the day and then returns home in the evening. This is done anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the severity of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be beneficial for addicted individuals who may not be able to afford long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be away from their families for extended periods of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals participate in standard counseling and therapy for addiction issues while also addressing mental health issues which could prevent them from staying sober once treatment is complete.
