  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • According to a 2010 Reuters Health report, a larger number of Americans than ever have landed in the hospital due to drug overdoses related to powerful prescription painkillers, sedatives, tranquilizers, and sleep medications.
  • GHB rape cases are nearly impossible to prosecute primarily because victims have very little memory of what actually took place after they knowingly or unknowingly ingested the substance.
  • Hashish users who use the drug in large quantities can become sedated or disoriented, not knowing who they are, where they are, or what time it is.
  • A woman in San Diego California was recently reported to have died of a Fentanyl overdose; ironically, next to her on the couch was a notebook that contained information about drug rehab programs that she had been recently considering.
  • Individuals addicted to Fentanyl can expect to experience withdrawal symptoms including cold sweats, diarrhea, insomnia, muscle pain and bone pain, restlessness, involuntary leg movements, vomiting and nausea, severe stomach cramps, excessive sweating, chills, goose bumps, dilated pupils, runny nose and eyes, depression and loss of appetite.

Limited Hospitalization/Day Treatment Programs

Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of treatment program which works to treat substance abuse problems and mental health issues which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the person in treatment takes part in various treatment activities and techniques during the day and then returns home in the evening. This takes place anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the severity of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for addicted persons who cannot afford long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be away from their families for extended periods of time. While in Day Treatment, clients take part in standard counseling and therapy for addiction issues while also addressing mental health problems which could prevent them from making progress and obtaining gains throughout the treatment process.
