  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • In the first part of the 20th century, heroin was the active ingredient in many products, including cough suppressants and other common cures at the time.
  • GHB can make an individual very tired while also slowing down the rate of the users breathing and heart rate.
  • It is important for an observer of a drug overdose to question the patient about what drugs they have taken, as by the time they reach the hospital, they may have be unconscious, and therefore may be unable to communicate.
  • Individuals who make Ecstasy can add anything they want to the drug, so its purity is always in question.
  • For individuals who have struggled long-term chronic drug addiction, episodes of relapse may require a return to prior drug rehab components.

Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol rehab services which are provided on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to participate in an inpatient rehabilitation facility. An outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility offers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug or alcohol rehabilitation facility where the person is expected to stay and reside at the treatment facility until treatment is complete. Outpatient drug rehab is also available for individuals who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but require a comprehensive aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide additional support and therapy to help them remain clean and sober.
