  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Recent government statistics have indicated that there has been a huge increase in opioid related drug overdose deaths in individuals that are 35 to 54 years old in the United States.
  • Ecstasy is often used along with psychedelic drugs, such as LSD or psilocybin mushrooms, or even common drugs such as cannabis.
  • Elderly drivers who drink heavily are more impaired than elderly drivers without alcoholism after consuming an equivalent dose of alcohol.
  • Among the nearly 23 million drug users who were classified as being dependent to or having abused drugs in the past year in 2009, the highest number was among marijuana users with 4.3 million people aged 12 or older.
  • The skyrocketing rate of drug overdoses in the United States is not surprising, as opioid analgesics are increasingly being prescribed to individuals; according to a recent government survey, one in five adults and one in ten kids have received some form of opiate pain prescription within the past year.

Outpatient Treatment

Drug rehab services which are delivered on an outpatient basis are available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient treatment facility. An outpatient drug rehab center offers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehab center where the person is expected to stay and reside at the treatment program until treatment has been fully completed. Outpatient drug or alcohol treatment is also available for individuals who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but also need a comprehensive aftercare program which will offer further support and therapy to help them remain clean and sober.
