  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • In the workplace, white non-Hispanics have higher rates of current illicit drug use than their black non-Hispanic and Hispanic counterparts (9%, 6%, and 5% respectively).
  • Emergency room visits involving ecstasy rose more than 100 percent from 2004 to 2009 (123.2 percent increase).
  • High doses of GHB can make an individual fall into a deep coma-like sleep, and upon awakening they will have little or no memory of anything prior to taking the substance.
  • Even after a week of having smoked hashish, only 60-70% of the THC has left the body because it is stored in the body fat.
  • Whether a drug overdose is entirely accidental or due to negligence or abuse, there is always a great amount of mending to be done before a person can pick up their lives in the wake of such a tragic incident.

Other Language Programs

People who speak other languages, other than English that is, should receive drug or alcohol rehabilitation which is on par with English speakers. Those who speak other languages should not feel that their treatment curriculum or treatment setting is going to be any less effective because they don't speak English. There are quite a few drug rehab centers available which provide services to those who speak foreign languages, all of which offer a variety of programs to choose from. For example, some substance abuse treatment facilities which can treat those who speak other languages are only short term programs, but there are more long term options available. Foreign language speakers should seek the advice from an addiction professional in their area to choose a drug or alcohol rehabilitation facility which would be suitable to their needs.
