  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Ambien use can cause the users to carry on full conversations while actually asleep, and be able to respond as though they were fully awake, while being obviously incoherent and having no relevance to the current situation.
  • For females as a group, circumstances may require a specialized drug rehab approach, and studies have shown that physical and sexual trauma is more common in drug-abusing women than in men seeking treatment.
  • Many senior citizens who take medications for chronic pain will forget that they have already taken the potent pain medicines; in many of these instances, these elderly individuals will experience a potentially deadly drug overdose as a direct result of their memory lag.
  • Ecstasy users often experience many negative effects during and after having used the drug, for example many Ecstasy users become nervous and agitated.
  • Between 2005 and2009 among males between the ages of 21 and 34, the number of emergency room visits involving opiates increased significantly from 7,185 to 11,509 visits.

Outpatient Treatment

Drug rehabilitation programs which are offered on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to participate in an inpatient rehab program. An outpatient drug rehabilitation program provides many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug treatment program where the individual is expected to remain at the rehabilitation center until treatment has been fully completed. Outpatient drug treatment is also available for individuals who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but require a thorough aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide further support and treatment to help them avoid relapse.
