  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • The American Medical Association has currently reported that approximately 75% of all drug-related overdoses in the United States have involved the abuse of prescription drugs.
  • Fentanyl addicts often become involved in pharmacy robberies, shoplifting incidents, and health care fraud to get more of the drug.
  • Alcohol slows reaction time and impairs judgment and coordination, skills which are needed to drive a motor vehicle safely. The more alcohol consumed, the greater the impairment.
  • Many people who survive an overdose could possibly have to undergo some type of ongoing medical care for the rest of their lives.
  • Hashish can be smoked as a cigarette (called a joint or a nail) or in a pipe or bong.

Those who speak other languages, other than English that is, should be able to receive substance abuse treatment which is on par with English speakers. Those who speak other languages should not feel that their treatment opportunities are limited or inferior because they don't speak English. There are quite a few substance abuse treatment programs available which cater to those who speak foreign languages, all of which offer various programs to choose from. For example, some drug and alcohol rehab programs which can treat individuals who speak other languages are only short term rehab facilities, but there are more long term options available. Foreign language speakers should consult with an addiction professional in their area to choose a drug or alcohol rehab program which would be suitable to their needs.
