  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Although many people are reported to survive, thousands of people in the United States are reported to die from complications that are directly linked to a cocaine overdose.
  • Individuals who partake in medically assisted withdrawal, but do not receive any further drug rehab, show drug abuse patterns similar to those who had never received treatment.
  • Elderly drivers who drink heavily are at greater risk of a crash than elderly drivers without alcoholism after consuming an equivalent dose of alcohol.
  • The number of fatal drug overdoses in the U.S. has nearly doubled within the last ten years, according to the most recently available government statistics.
  • Treatment for a drug overdose is always dependent on knowing which type of drug has been used; therefore, it is critical that a person who witnesses a drug overdose bring any pills or bottles that may help the emergency medical team to determine the appropriate form of treatment.

Dui/Dwi Offender Programs

DUI/DWI offenders are typically required to participate in a certain number of hours either in counseling, meetings or a drug or alcohol treatment program. Each state has its own requirements when it comes to sentencing for the DUI/DWI offender. Offenders who are deemed low to moderate DUI/DWI offenders will typically be required to participate in some form of group counseling or therapy. These are sometimes referred to as "Level I & Level II Alcohol Classes". These group meetings are usually held by a professional in the field of addiction recovery or a person with long-term sobriety involved in the Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous groups. DUI/DWI offenders considered to be serious offenders will likely have to serve jail time at a minimum before beginning their assigned counseling or alcohol treatment program.
