  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • GHB is often sold illegally in gyms as some bodybuilders are still under the impression that this substance stimulates growth hormones, although there is no evidence to show that it does.
  • Brain damage caused by methamphetamine may appear similar to symptoms which are caused by Alzheimers disease, stroke, and epilepsy.
  • Abrupt cessation of Xanax only makes the original symptoms of anxiety and panic that the drug was originally prescribed for more apparent, which is commonly referred to a "rebound effect" and is one of the reasons the drug is so addictive.
  • A popular amphetamine known as "Speed" is injected intravenously because the "high" is more rapid and intense than when the drug is taken orally.
  • Individuals who do not meet the criteria for alcohol dependence or abuse, but who are drinking at levels that place them at risk for increased problems, can be helped through screening and brief intervention.

Outpatient Treatment

Drug rehabilitation programs which are delivered on an outpatient basis are available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehabilitation facility. An outpatient drug rehabilitation center provides many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehab program where the person is expected to stay and reside at the rehab center until the treatment process has been fully completed. Outpatient drug or alcohol rehabilitation is also offered for those who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but require a comprehensive aftercare program which will offer additional support and therapy to help them remain clean and sober.
