  • For individuals who are aged 21 or older, emergency department visits involving Ecstasy also typically involve alcohol and cocaine.
  • A drug overdose describes the ingestion of a drug in quantities greater than have been recommended or are generally practiced; this condition can be extremely dangerous and can ultimately result in death.
  • Many individuals who use GHB will risk a deadly overdose, as they are trying to take enough of the drug to be able to experience an "out of body buzz, which would be like watching themselves on television."
  • Drug craving and depression experienced during crack withdrawal can last for several weeks and months following cessation of long-term heavy use of the drug.

Dui/Dwi Offender Programs

DUI/DWI offenders are often required to enroll in a specific number of hours either in counseling, meetings or a drug or alcohol rehab program. Each state has its own requirements when it comes to retribution for the DUI/DWI offender. Offenders who are regarded as low to moderate DUI/DWI offenders will typically be required to participate in some form of group counseling or therapy. These are sometimes referred to as "Level I & Level II Alcohol Classes". These meetings are often held by a professional in the field of addiction recovery or a person with long-term sobriety involved in the Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous groups. DUI/DWI offenders deemed to be serious offenders will likely have to serve jail time at a minimum before beginning their mandatory counseling or alcohol treatment program.
