  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • About 15 percent of 10th and 12th graders in the U.S. have used amphetamines.
  • Fentanyl is hundreds of times more potent than street heroin, and tends to produce significantly worse respiratory depression, making it a dangerous drug for heroin abusers to play around with.
  • Common Dilaudid withdrawal symptoms may occur four to five hours after the last dose.
  • The Office of National Drug Control Policy opposes making naloxone widely available, because they do not want the opioid antidote to be handled by non-medical professionals.
  • Because many addicts will simply choose to take more fentanyl to ease symptoms, it is always best to undergo fentanyl withdrawal with the help of professional treatment counselors or medical professionals who can help ease symptoms and cravings for the drug.

Limited Hospitalization/Day Treatment Programs

Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of rehabilitation program which works to treat substance abuse issues and mental health issues which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the person in treatment participates in various treatment activities and techniques during the day and then returns home in the evening. This is done anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the severity of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for addicted persons who cannot afford long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be away from their families for extended periods of time. While in Day Treatment, clients take part in typical counseling and therapy for addiction issues while also addressing mental health problems which could keep them from staying sober once treatment is complete.
