Detox for Methadone

Methadone detoxification is a course of action which should be overseen by drug addiction professionals within a drug treatment center who realize how difficult and challenging methadone detox can be. Methadone detoxification is known to be far more serious in terms of symptoms and duration than even heroin detox, and users frequently revert back to methadone to ease withdrawal symptoms or, worse yet, turn to heroin or prescription opioids to alleviate symptoms. This is why methadone detoxification must only be done under strict supervision at a drug rehab facility which has practical experience in dealing with this type of detoxification, and where the individual can receive additional rehabilitation services to address all addiction issues.
