  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Heroin overdose rates have grown by double-digits during the last five years, throughout the United States.
  • In an attempt to reduce the occurrence of doctor shopping, pharmacy robberies, thefts, shoplifting incidents, health care fraud incidents and prescription fraud, the federal government has established prescription monitoring programs in 21 states to try and stop this.
  • As Opana withdrawal worsens, individuals may experience more intense drug withdrawal symptoms such as severe depression, insomnia, diarrhea, restlessness, loss of appetite, body aches, severe abdominal pain, nausea, tremors, and an even more stronger and intense craving for the drug.
  • The number of Vicodin overdoses has risen dramatically in the United States, because the drug is much cheaper and some insurance plans do not cover the more expensive prescription pain medications.
  • Individual outcomes in drug rehab depends on the extent and nature of their drug history, the appropriateness of treatment and related services used to address this issues, and the quality of interaction between the individual and his or her drug treatment advisors and/or counselors.

Outpatient Treatment

Drug treatment programs which are provided on an outpatient basis are available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient treatment facility. An outpatient substance abuse treatment center provides many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehab center where the individual is required to stay and reside at the treatment facility until treatment has been fully completed. Outpatient drug treatment is also offered for individuals who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but require a thorough aftercare program which will provide further support and therapy to help them avoid relapse.
