  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • In the case of fentanyl addiction, an individual will typically take more fentanyl or another opiate narcotic to relieve withdrawal symptoms if they have become dependent to the drug.
  • Individuals who abuse OxyContin will frequently remove the sustained-release coating to get a rapid release of the drug, causing a rush of euphoria similar to heroin.
  • A nursing mother who uses hashish may pass some of the THC contained in the drug directly to the baby in her breast milk.
  • Five to seven cocktails over the course of four to six hours will generally cause a hangover for a light-to-moderate drinker, but may take more for heavier drinkers due to a higher tolerance.
  • Although heroin withdrawal is considered less dangerous than alcohol or barbiturate withdrawal, sudden withdrawal by chronic and long term heroin users who are in poor health can be fatal.

Dui/Dwi Offender Programs

DUI/DWI offenders are typically required to attend a certain number of hours either in counseling, meetings or a drug or alcohol treatment program. Each state has its own requirements when it comes to retribution for the DUI/DWI offender. Offenders who are regarded as low to moderate DUI/DWI offenders will typically engage in some form of group counseling or therapy. These are sometimes referred to as "Level I & Level II Alcohol Classes". These group meetings are often held by a professional in the field of addiction recovery or a person with long-term sobriety involved in the Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous groups. DUI/DWI offenders deemed to be serious offenders will likely have to serve jail time at a minimum before beginning their assigned counseling or alcohol treatment program.
