  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • The skyrocketing rate of drug overdoses in the United States is not surprising, as opioid analgesics are increasingly being prescribed to individuals; according to a recent government survey, one in five adults and one in ten kids have received some form of opiate pain prescription within the past year.
  • Because prescription drug seekers frequent open houses to steal drugs, homeowners should be storing their prescription drugs in a location where they cannot be accessed by those seeking to steal them.
  • "Crack lung" symptoms can manifest as fever, cough, difficulty breathing and severe chest pain which typically occur within two days of having smoked crack heavily.
  • In the United States, drug overdose rates related to Caucasians, have far surpassed drug overdose rates in t African America communities throughout this country.
  • A crack rock acts as a local anesthetic which numbs the tongue or mouth when it is directly placed in such an area.

Residential Short-Term Treatment that is 30 days or less

Residential short-term treatment for substance abuse is a variety oftreatment program where the individual will stay at the facility on an inpatient basis, and which usually demands a stay of 30 days or less. While attending residential short-term treatment the client undergoes an intensive but brief course of treatment that commonly includes a supervised detoxification, counseling, and other forms of therapy which are aimed at helping the individual become rehabilitated and able to function without drugs in everyday life once rehab is complete. Residential short-term treatment is not always effective for all instances of addiction, and most will need an aftercare program or additional treatment in a more long-term residential setting.
