Detox for Methadone

Methadone detoxification is a course of action which must be supervised by substance abuse professionals within a drug treatment facility who realize how difficult and challenging methadone detoxification can be. Methadone detox is known to be far more serious in terms of symptoms and duration than even heroin detox, and users typically revert back to methadone to alleviate withdrawal symptoms or, worse yet, turn to heroin or prescription opioids to ease symptoms. This is why methadone detoxification should only be done under strict supervision at a drug rehab facility which has practical experience in dealing with this type of detoxification, and where the individual can receive additional rehabilitation services to address all addiction issues.
