  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • In the first part of the 20th century, heroin was the active ingredient in many products, including cough suppressants and other common cures at the time.
  • As of 2005, the most significant predictors of whether an individual would complete drug rehab or transfer to another program to receive further treatment included: alcohol as the primary substance of abuse, less than daily use at admission, being over age 40, having 12 or more years of education, being White, referral to treatment by the criminal justice system, and being employed.
  • Around 9% of 12th-graders report using Vicodin without a prescription to get high, and 5% report using OxyContin.
  • About 9% of adults in the United States met the criteria for an alcohol use disorder; whereas 2% met the criteria for a drug use disorder and 1.1% met the criteria for both.
  • A drug detox will remove any remnants of Lortab from the body, and drug treatment staff and medical professionals at a drug rehab facility can make Lortab withdrawal a much safer and smoother process.

Outpatient Treatment

Drug treatment programs which are provided on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to participate in an inpatient rehab program. An outpatient substance abuse treatment center provides many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug or alcohol treatment program where the individual is required to stay and reside at the treatment center until treatment has been fully completed. Outpatient drug rehab is also available for individuals who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but require a thorough aftercare program which will offer further support and therapy to help them avoid relapse.
