  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • In the past there were very few milligrams of actual heroin found in a bag of the drug, as most of the bag was filled with additives like sugar, powdered milk, or quinine.
  • Because individuals cannot naturally produce the feelings which the body registers as rewarding after taking Adderall, the drug can become an addiction because the individual wants to experience these feelings again and more often.
  • Crack produces a very intense and immediate high which is why it is so addictive.
  • Fentanyl patches sold on the black market can either be cut up or eaten, or the gel inside of the patch can be smoked.
  • Current research that was conducted by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) has reported that drug overdoses are reported to be the principle cause of death in long term substance abusers.

Limited Hospitalization/Day Treatment Programs

Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of recovery program which works to treat substance abuse issues and mental health conditions which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the individual in treatment takes part in various recovery activities and techniques during the day and then returns home in the evening. This takes place anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the severity of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for addicted individuals who cannot afford long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be away from their families for prolonged periods of time. While in Day Treatment, clients participate in typical counseling and therapy for addiction issues while also addressing mental health issues which could keep them from staying sober once treatment is complete.
