  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Since 1999, the large majority of drug overdose deaths have mostly been attributed to one particular category of drugs that are commonly referred to as "narcotics", and include prescription painkillers called opiods.
  • Individuals who abuse Valium will typically take much higher doses of the drug than would ever be prescribed at one time or in a short period of time in an attempt to achieve some kind of a high.
  • Fentanyl can be administered via injection, with a transdermal patch, or in lozenge form.
  • As with all opiate drugs, there is a high potential for abuse with fentanyl and so it is a Schedule II narcotic drug which is only available by prescription.
  • Overdose deaths can be intentional or unintentional, and they can result from both licit and illicit drug abuse. Drugs commonly implicated in overdose deaths are alcohol, psychoactive medications, analgesics, illicit drugs such as cocaine and heroin, and multiple drugs taken concomitantly.

Dui/Dwi Offender Programs

DUI/DWI offenders are typically required to participate in a specific number of hours either in counseling, meetings or a drug or alcohol rehabilitation program. Each state has its own requirements when it comes to retribution for the DUI/DWI offender. Offenders who are regarded as low to moderate DUI/DWI offenders will typically be required to participate in some form of group counseling or therapy. These are sometimes referred to as "Level I & Level II Alcohol Classes". These group meetings are usually held by a professional in the field of addiction recovery or a person with long-term sobriety involved in the Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous groups. DUI/DWI offenders considered to be serious offenders will likely have to serve jail time at a minimum before beginning their assigned counseling or substance abuse rehab program.
