  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Individuals who take PCP commonly see images, hear sounds, and feel sensations that seem real but are not.
  • Crack cocaine binges often lead to irritability, restlessness, and anxiety.
  • Drinkers with the same weight, but different muscle builds will experience a different Blood Alcohol Concentration.
  • Among Americans aged 12 or older in the nation, 39 million (16.3 percent) have used both a prescription psychotherapeutic drug for non-medical purposes as well as illicit drugs in their lifetime. Only 9 million (3.6 percent) report use of psychotherapeutic drugs without use of other non-medical illicit drugs.
  • Recently in the state of California, drug overdose deaths have raised dramatically, according to many recent news reports. In one instance, a 19-year old Army recruit, who had just recently passed his military physical, took a handful and Xanax and went out drinking with several friends; this person did not ever get the opportunity to serve in the military, as he was subsequently found dead in his vehicle the next morning.

Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol rehabilitation programs which are delivered on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient treatment program. An outpatient drug rehabilitation program provides many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug treatment facility where the person is expected to remain at the rehab facility until treatment has been fully completed. Outpatient drug or alcohol rehabilitation is also available for individuals who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but also need a thorough aftercare and relapse prevention program which will offer further support and treatment to help them remain clean and sober.
