  • Inhalant abuse may result in a rapid high that can mimic alcohol intoxication; which is why individuals that "huff" should not operate a vehicle.
  • Currently in the United States, there is very little funding for overdose prevention; unfortunately, the overdose epidemic continues to escalate as the federal grants for these types of preventative programs are not being approved for funding.
  • If someone has been abusing Valium and is addicted to it, a detox should be followed up with a drug treatment program which treats benzodiazepine addiction to ensure that the individual stays off of Valium and other drugs for good.
  • Ecstasy users take a pill, tablet, or capsule of the drug which can be different colors, and sometimes have cartoon-like images on them.
  • Heroin is sometimes mixed with other substances such as sugar, starch, or quinine, which puts unwitting users at risk.

Dui/Dwi Offender Programs

DUI/DWI offenders are often required to attend a specific number of hours either in counseling, meetings or a drug or alcohol rehab program. Each state has its own requirements when it comes to retribution for the DUI/DWI offender. Offenders who are regarded as low to moderate DUI/DWI offenders will typically be required to participate in some form of group counseling or therapy. These are sometimes referred to as "Level I & Level II Alcohol Classes". These meetings are typically held by a professional in the field of addiction recovery or a person with long-term sobriety involved in the Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous groups. DUI/DWI offenders considered to be serious offenders will likely have to serve jail time at a minimum before beginning their assigned counseling or substance abuse treatment program.
