  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Because cocaine affects the heart and respiratory system too much of the drug can cause death, especially when the drug is injected or smoked.
  • In 2005 nearly 33 million Americans had used pain relievers such as Lortab non-medically in their lifetimes, which was second only to marijuana in terms of past-year use.
  • A survivor of a drug overdose is often consumed with guilt over putting their loved ones through this traumatic ordeal, and is often willing to seek drug treatment to avoid the possibility of another such occurrence in the future.
  • Drug or alcohol withdrawal symptoms can be problematic when these substances have masked long-term malnutrition, disease, chronic pain, or sleep deprivation.
  • When an individual is not highly educated about all aspects of methadone use, including knowing about the way that the drug builds up in the body, they will be at risk for experiencing a potentially fatal overdose.

Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol rehabilitation programs which are delivered on an outpatient basis are available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehabilitation center. An outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility offers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehab program where the individual is required to stay and reside at the rehab facility until treatment is complete. Outpatient drug rehabilitation is also offered for those who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but also need a comprehensive aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide additional support and treatment to help them remain clean and sober.
