  • Cocaine is a naturally occurring alkaloid which can be extracted from the leaves of the coca shrub, which was originally found in the Andes Mountains of Peru and Bolivia.
  • According to a current government study that covered a 5-year period, the increasing number of opiate-related unintentional drug overdose deaths can be attributed to individuals who hop from doctor to doctor in order to get multiple prescriptions.
  • Heroin withdrawal typically lasts a week to 10 days while heavy methadone users can expect to undergo withdrawal for up to 6 weeks.
  • As Opana withdrawal worsens, individuals may experience more intense drug withdrawal symptoms such as severe depression, insomnia, diarrhea, restlessness, loss of appetite, body aches, severe abdominal pain, nausea, tremors, and an even more stronger and intense craving for the drug.
  • Anabolic steroids are often brought into the U.S. from Mexico and other European countries.

Residential Short-Term Treatment that is 30 days or less

Residential short-term treatment for drug or alcohol addiction is a variety ofrehabilitation program where the individual will stay at the facility on an inpatient basis, and which usually requires a stay of 30 days or less. While in residential short-term treatment the individual undergoes an intensive but brief course of treatment that usually incorporates a supervised detoxification, counseling, and other forms of therapy which are aimed at helping the individual to recover and be able to function without drugs in everyday life once rehab is complete. Residential short-term treatment is not always effective for all scenarios of addiction, and most will require an aftercare program or further treatment in a more long-term residential facility.
