  • Because Ambien has a high potential for abuse it should always be stored in a secure place so that individuals with problems with addiction will not have access to it.
  • Individuals struggling with alcohol problems may not be as likely to choose becoming married or having a child, and these milestones may not affect their drinking behavior to the same extent that they affect people with less problematic drinking practices.
  • Because Lortab contains hydrocodone and produces effects similar to heroin, the drug is commonly abused and diverted.

Hospital Inpatient Programs

Hospital inpatient drug treatment is carried out in a hospital or similar setting and is overseen by doctors and other medical staff. Hospital inpatient treatment is often necessary in the beginning stages of abstinence when the person may experience the onset of life threatening withdrawal symptoms, which is sometimes true when quitting alcohol as well as a category of prescription drugs known as benzodiazepines which must be monitored very carefully by medical professionals in case of any complications. Hospital inpatient treatment is also administered to those who choose to undergo medication assisted withdrawal, as is the case with opiate addicted individuals who wish to use this type of detox approach to avoid the severe withdrawal symptoms associated with heroin or other opiate withdrawal. This type of opiate detoxification is not treatment in itself however, and these individuals will need further counseling and therapy to fully recover from addiction.
