  • An Ecstasy overdose happens when you consume more Ecstasy than your body can safely handle. Ecstasy users are constantly flirting with drug overdose, and the difference between the high they're seeking and serious injury or death is often quite small.
  • Drug craving and depression experienced during crack withdrawal can last for several weeks and months following cessation of long-term heavy use of the drug.
  • Because Dilaudid is a potent narcotic, it is often called "drug store heroin" by illicit street users.
  • In 2002, the total number of alcohol ads on network, local and cable television in the U.S. increased to 289,381, a nearly 40% hike from the previous year.
  • For individuals who are aged 20 or younger, their Ecstasy-related emergency department visit is more than twice as likely to be for Ecstasy alone.

Limited Hospitalization/Day Treatment Programs

Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of recovery program which works to treat substance abuse issues and mental health conditions which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the individual in treatment participates in a variety of treatment activities and techniques during the day and then returns home in the evening. This takes place anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the seriousness of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for addicted individuals who cannot afford long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be away from their families for prolonged periods of time. While in Day Treatment, clients take part in typical counseling and therapy for addiction issues while also addressing mental health issues which could keep them from staying sober once treatment is complete.
