  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • For heroin addicts, craving and relapse may occur weeks and months after withdrawal symptoms are long gone.
  • Currently in the United States, there is very little funding for overdose prevention; unfortunately, the overdose epidemic continues to escalate as the federal grants for these types of preventative programs are not being approved for funding.
  • The most common substances that are reported in drug overdose deaths are opiate based drug and alcohol.
  • Effects which may have a late onset as a result of LSD use have been reported to include distortion of senses and confusion in time and thought processes.
  • Because of the risk of dependence for even those who use Valium legitimately, it can literally happen to anyone.

Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol rehab services which are delivered on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to participate in an inpatient rehab program. An outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation facility offers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehabilitation program where the person is required to remain at the rehab program until treatment has been fully completed. Outpatient drug rehab is also offered for those who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but require a comprehensive aftercare program which will offer additional support and treatment to help them avoid relapse.
