  • Hashish users will have traces of the drug in their bodies which can sometimes be detected for weeks after they have stopped using the drug.
  • Crack withdrawal typically causes users to turn to other substances like alcohol, sedatives, hypnotics, or anti-anxiety medications to treat their symptoms.
  • Abuse of prescription drugs including opioids, central nervous system (CNS) depressants, and stimulants can alter the brains activity and lead to addiction.
  • Exercise can be an effective complement to many drug rehabs and has shown efficacy in reducing stress and helping prevent weight gain following drug cessation.
  • Since 1999, the large majority of drug overdose deaths have mostly been attributed to one particular category of drugs that are commonly referred to as "narcotics", and include prescription painkillers called opiods.

Dui/Dwi Offender Programs

DUI/DWI offenders are typically required to participate in a certain number of hours either in counseling, meetings or a drug or alcohol treatment program. Each state has its own requirements when it comes to sentencing for the DUI/DWI offender. Offenders who are deemed low to moderate DUI/DWI offenders will typically engage in some form of group counseling or therapy. These are sometimes referred to as "Level I & Level II Alcohol Classes". These group meetings are typically held by a professional in the field of addiction recovery or a person with long-term sobriety involved in the Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous groups. DUI/DWI offenders deemed to be serious offenders will likely have to serve jail time at a minimum before beginning their assigned counseling or substance abuse rehabilitation program.
