Outpatient Treatment

Drug rehab programs which are provided on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehab center. An outpatient drug treatment facility delivers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehab facility where the individual is required to stay and reside at the rehabilitation facility until the treatment process has been fully completed. Outpatient drug or alcohol treatment is also offered for those who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but require a comprehensive aftercare and relapse prevention program which will offer additional support and therapy to help them avoid relapse.

Other Language Programs

Individuals who speak other languages, other than English that is, should be able to receive drug or alcohol rehabilitation which is on par with English speakers. Speakers of other languages should not feel that their treatment curriculum or treatment setting is going to be any less effective because they don't speak English. There are quite a few drug rehab facilities available which cater to those who speak foreign languages, all of which provide a variety of programs to choose from. For example, some drug and alcohol treatment facilities which cater to people who speak other languages are only short term programs, and others are longer term programs. Foreign language speakers should seek the advice from an addiction professional in their area to choose a drug or alcohol rehab facility which would be suitable to their needs.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment substance abuse rehabilitation programs are an excellent alternative to other types of rehabilitation centers i.e. private medical insurance and state funded programs. Individuals who are able to attend self payment programs pay for their entire rehabilitation process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug or alcohol treatment program. In order to learn more about self payment at a specific program, make contact with a drug or alcohol treatment program and inquire as to their payment options. It is beneficial to contact a number of programs so that you have an understanding of your choices with regards to treatment options and payment methods.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is accessible to people in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid depends greatly on income and other circumstances such as whether or not the person has dependents and if they receive any other assistance. Medicaid may even cover the costs associated with drug rehab, and there are many drug treatment programs throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Many drug treatment programs which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only deliver such treatment on a short term basis, usually 30 days or less. People who have Medicaid should explore which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to reap the full benefits of such a program.

Medicare Coverage

Drug addiction and alcoholism can effect many older Americans and seniors, and this issue continues to grow as each year passes. Seniors who are covered by Medicare, an insurance plan funded through the federal government for Americans in this age bracket, can use their Medicare benefits to receive treatment services for addiction at a wide variety of drug and alcohol treatment facilities around the country. Medicare covers both inpatient and outpatient treatment programs, and seniors who are in need of treatment can consult with their primary care physician to choose a rehab program covered by Medicare which would fit his or her particular needs.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

When somebody is abusing drugs or alcohol and is looking for help, many effective drug or alcohol treatment programs accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term programs accept private health insurance, far more effective substance abuse rehab facilities which offer an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These rehab facilities which accept private health insurance can vary in terms of treatment curriculum, but those people who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to attending a drug treatment facility. For more information, speak with with a treatment professional at a drug or alcohol rehabilitation center in your area to find out which services your private health insurance will cover.
