Hospital Inpatient Programs

Hospital inpatient drug treatment is performed in a hospital or similar setting and is supervised by doctors and other medical staff. Hospital inpatient treatment is sometimes necessary in the beginning stages of abstinence when the person may experience the onset of medically dangerous withdrawal symptoms, which is sometimes the case when quitting alcohol as well as a category of prescription drugs known as benzodiazepines which should be supervised very carefully by medical professionals to minimize ant dangerous health complications. Hospital inpatient treatment is also delivered to individuals who desire a medication assisted withdrawal, as is the case with individuals who are addicted to opiates and wish to use this type of detoxification technique to avoid the severe withdrawal symptoms associated with heroin or other opiate withdrawal. This type of opiate detox is not treatment in itself however, and these individuals will need additional counseling and therapy to fully recover from addiction.

Co-Occurring Mental with Substance Abuse Issues

Persons with co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders must address both issues in order to become fully rehabilitated. Some people take drugs to ease symptoms of mental health disorders, and some people take drugs which then, in turn, brings about symptoms which mimic mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression. Addiction rehabilitation professionals know how to distinguish between the two, and can work with clients to appropriately treat real mental health disorders in tandem with any other substance abuse treatment that is done with the individual. This has proven to be effective in keeping individuals with mental health problems off of drugs and mentally stable and healthy.

Individuals can become addicted to drugs no matter their handicap, disability or personal physical challenge. Spanish Services

There are more and more Spanish speaking clients walking into drug and alcohol rehab programs every day needing help. Because Spanish is such a prevalent language in this country, many substance abuse rehabilitation facilities are capable of providing services to Spanish speaking individuals. Additionally, many treatment professionals make it a point to learn the language so as to be able to provide the support and care needed for Spanish speaking individuals.

Other Language Programs

Individuals who speak other languages, other than English that is, should be able to receive substance abuse rehabilitation which is on par with English speakers. Those who speak other languages should not feel that their treatment opportunities are limited or inferior because they don't speak English. There are quite a few drug and alcohol rehab programs available which provide services to those who speak foreign languages, all of which provide a variety of programs to choose from. For example, some drug and alcohol rehab programs which provide services for those who speak other languages are only short term rehab facilities, but there are more long term options available. Foreign language speakers can seek the advice from a treatment professional in their area to choose a drug rehabilitation facility that provides rehabilitation services in their specific language.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is accessible to individuals in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid depends greatly on income and other factors such as whether or not the person has dependents and if they receive any other financial assistance. Medicaid may even cover the costs associated with drug rehab, and there are many drug and alcohol treatment programs throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Most drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only deliver such treatment on a short term basis, typically 30 days or less. Individuals who have Medicaid should research which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to reap the full benefits of such a program.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many substance abuse treatment centers in the United States provide payment assistance to men and women struggling with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The person in need of treatment can select a rehab program which ideally fits their situation, meaning the treatment plan and design of the program will supply them the best results. The addicted person can then talk to one of the treatment professionals at the drug or alcohol rehabilitation program to talk about what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug rehab programs are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will usually work with the person to find an equivalent or comparable treatment facility which is more affordable or that can provide workable financing options so that they can acquire the rehabilitation they so desperately need.
