Limited Hospitalization/Day Treatment Programs

Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of rehabilitation program which works to treat substance abuse problems and mental health conditions which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the person in treatment participates in a variety of treatment activities and techniques during the day and then returns home in the evening. This is done anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the severity of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for addicted individuals who cannot afford long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be away from their families for prolonged periods of time. While in Day Treatment, clients participate in standard counseling and therapy for addiction issues while also addressing mental health troubles which could prevent them from staying sober once treatment is complete.

Co-Occurring Mental with Substance Abuse Issues

Persons with co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders must address both issues if there is any hope for them to become fully rehabilitated. Some individuals take drugs or alcohol to alleviate symptoms of mental health disorders, and some individuals take drugs which then, in turn, brings about symptoms which are identical to mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety. Addiction treatment professionals know how to distinguish between the two, and can work with clients to properly treat real mental health problems in tandem with any other substance abuse treatment that is done with the individual. This has proven to be effective in keeping people with mental health problems off of drugs and mentally stable and productive.

Seniors/Older Adult Services

Whether it is evident or not, seniors and older adults comprise a considerable percentage of individuals in the United States who struggle with drug and/or alcohol abuse and addiction. As the baby boomer generation ages, this will become an even bigger problem with an even bigger need for drug rehab facilities which are prepared to treat seniors and older adults who are in need of rehabilitation for addiction problems. Seniors and older adults are faced with many physical challenges as a result of their age, which can have an impact on treatment outcome if not addressed concurrently. It is beneficial for seniors and older adults to find rehabilitation before any long term consequences come about.

Spanish Services

There are more and more Spanish speaking clients enrolling into drug rehab programs every day needing help. Because Spanish is such a prevalent language in this country, many substance abuse rehab programs are capable of providing treatment to Spanish speaking clients. Additionally, many treatment professionals make it a point to learn the language so as to be able to provide the support and care needed for Spanish speaking clients.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment substance abuse treatment programs are an excellent alternative to other types of rehab facilities i.e. private medical insurance and state funded facilities. People who are able to attend self payment programs pay for their entire rehab process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their substance abuse rehab program. To learn more about self payment programs, make contact with a substance abuse treatment program and ask about their payment options. It is beneficial to contact a number of programs so that you have a comparison of your choices with regards to rehab options and payment methods.

Medicare Coverage

Drug addiction and alcoholism can effect many older Americans and seniors, and this problem continues to grow as each year passes. Seniors who are covered through the Medicare program, an insurance plan funded through the federal government for Americans in this age bracket, can use their benefits to receive vital treatment services for addiction at a wide variety of drug rehab programs around the country. Medicare covers both inpatient and outpatient rehab facilities, and seniors who wish to receive help can consult with their primary care physician to choose a treatment program covered by Medicare which would fit his or her particular needs.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

If someone is addicted to drugs or alcohol and is seeking help, many effective drug rehabilitation programs accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term programs accept private health insurance, far more effective substance abuse rehab programs which provide an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These treatment programs which accept private health insurance can vary in terms of treatment curriculum, but those individuals who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to attending a drug or alcohol rehab program. For more information, speak with with a treatment professional at a substance abuse rehab facility in your area to find out which programs your private health insurance will cover.
