Outpatient Treatment

Drug rehabilitation services which are offered on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to participate in an inpatient rehabilitation center. An outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation program delivers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug or alcohol rehab center where the person is required to stay and reside at the rehab program until treatment is complete. Outpatient drug rehabilitation is also offered for those who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but also need a comprehensive aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide additional support and treatment to help them remain clean and sober.

Other Language Programs

Those who speak other languages, other than English that is, should be able to receive substance abuse rehabilitation which is on par with English speakers. Those who speak other languages should not feel that their treatment opportunities are limited or inferior because they don't speak English. There are many drug rehabilitation facilities available which cater to those who speak foreign languages, all of which offer a variety of programs to choose from. For example, some substance abuse treatment facilities which can treat individuals who speak other languages are only short term programs, and others are longer term programs. Foreign language speakers can seek the advice from an addiction professional in their area to choose a drug rehab program that provides rehabilitation services in their specific language.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers are an outstanding alternative to other types of rehabilitation programs i.e. private medical insurance and state funded facilities. People who are able to attend self payment programs pay for their entire rehabilitation process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their substance abuse rehab program. In order to learn more about self payment at a specific program, make contact with a substance abuse treatment facility and inquire as to their payment options. It is beneficial to contact a number of programs so that you have an understanding of your choices regarding rehab options and payment methods.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is accessible to individuals in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid depends greatly on income and other factors such as whether or not the individual has dependents and if they receive any other financial assistance. Medicaid may possibly even cover the costs associated with drug or alcohol treatment, and there are many drug and alcohol rehab programs throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Most drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only deliver such treatment on a short term basis, usually 30 days or less. People who have Medicaid should look for which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to acquire the full rewards of such a program.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug or alcohol rehab can be a challenge, because typically all resources have been exhausted because of their addiction. Many drug rehab facilities recognize this fact which is why many drug and alcohol rehab programs around the country offer payment options known as a sliding scale fee. There are many factors put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities would rather find a way to make it work financially so that those that need addiction help can receive the help they need.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many drug treatment programs in the United States offer payment assistance to people suffering with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The individual in need of treatment can choose a rehabilitation program which is a good fit, meaning the treatment plan and design of the program will offer them the best results. The addicted individual can then consult with one of the treatment professionals at the drug or alcohol rehab program to go over what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug and alcohol rehab programs are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will typically work with the individual to find an equivalent or similar treatment facility which is more affordable or that can offer workable financing options so that they can acquire the rehabilitation they so desperately need.
