Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol treatment programs which are provided on an outpatient basis are available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient treatment facility. An outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility provides many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehab facility where the person is expected to remain at the rehab center until treatment is complete. Outpatient drug or alcohol treatment is also available for those who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but also need a comprehensive aftercare and relapse prevention program which will offer additional support and therapy to help them remain clean and sober.

Co-Occurring Mental with Substance Abuse Issues

Persons with co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders must address both issues in order to become fully rehabilitated. Some people take drugs to ease symptoms of mental health problems, and some people take drugs which then, in turn, creates symptoms which are identical to mental health disorders, such as anxiety and depression. Drug treatment professionals know how to distinguish between the two, and can work with clients to appropriately treat real mental health conditions in tandem with any other substance abuse treatment that is done with the person. This has proven to be effective in keeping individuals with mental health disorders off of drugs and alcohol and mentally stable and happy.

Criminal Justice Client Programs

Criminal justice clients often need drug rehabilitation because of their problems with drug and alcohol abuse. Due to the nature of the criminal justice system, there are specific steps and guidelines that must be adhered to in order to be accepted into a criminal justice substance abuse rehabilitation center or recovery program. The first step is to determine the criminal justice clients eligibility. This step is completed by a panel of officials who decide how much and what type of drug or alcohol is necessary. Sometimes, the criminal justice clients obtain their substance abuse rehabilitation while they are incarcerated. For the best possible results, they are encouraged, if not strictly directed, to continue their recovery process once they leave jail and enroll in sober living or a therapeutic community.

Spanish Services

There are more and more Spanish speaking clients walking into substance abuse treatment centers every day needing help. Because Spanish is such a widespread language in this country, many substance abuse rehabilitation facilities are prepared to deliver services to Spanish speaking clients. Additionally, many treatment professionals make it a point to learn the language so as to be able to provide the support and therapy needed for Spanish speaking clients.

Other Language Programs

People who speak other languages, other than English that is, should receive substance abuse treatment which is on par with English speakers. Those who speak other languages should not feel that their treatment curriculum or treatment setting is going to be any less effective because they don't speak English. There are many drug treatment facilities available which provide services to those who speak foreign languages, all of which provide a variety of programs to choose from. For example, some substance abuse treatment programs which cater to individuals who speak other languages are only short term programs, but there are more long term options available. Foreign language speakers should seek the advice from an addiction professional in their area to choose a drug or alcohol rehabilitation facility which would be suitable to their needs.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is offered to people in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid is dependent on income and other factors including whether or not the individual has dependents and if they receive any other financial assistance. Medicaid may possibly even cover the costs associated with drug treatment, and there are many drug rehab facilities throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Most drug rehabilitation facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only deliver such treatment on a short term basis, usually 30 days or less. People who have Medicaid should research which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to reap the full rewards of such a program.

Drug addiction and alcoholism can effect many older Americans and seniors, and this issue is projected to only worsen in the coming years. Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many drug treatment programs in the United States provide payment assistance to individuals struggling with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The individual in need of rehabilitation can select a rehabilitation facility which is a good fit, meaning the treatment curriculum and design of the program will offer them the best results. The addicted individual can then seek advice from one of the treatment professionals at the drug rehab center to discuss what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug and alcohol rehab centers are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will often work with the individual to locate an equivalent or comparable treatment program which is more affordable or that can provide workable financing options so that they can receive the rehabilitation they so desperately need.
