Outpatient Treatment

Drug rehabilitation services which are provided on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehab center. An outpatient substance abuse treatment program provides many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug or alcohol rehab facility where the person is expected to stay and reside at the treatment program until the treatment process is complete. Outpatient drug or alcohol treatment is also offered for those who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but also need a thorough aftercare program which will provide further support and therapy to help them avoid relapse.

Spanish Services

There are more and more Spanish speaking clients walking into drug and alcohol rehab centers every day needing help. Because Spanish is such a common language in this country, many substance abuse treatment facilities are prepared to deliver treatment services to Spanish speaking people. Additionally, many counselors and therapists make it a point to learn the language so as to be able to provide the support and therapy needed for Spanish speaking individuals.

Other Language Programs

People who speak other languages, other than English that is, should receive substance abuse treatment which is on par with English speakers. Those who speak other languages should not feel that their treatment opportunities are limited or inferior because they don't speak English. There are many drug rehabilitation centers available which provide services to those who speak foreign languages, all of which provide a variety of programs to choose from. For example, some drug and alcohol rehab facilities which cater to those who speak other languages are only short term programs, but there are more long term options available. Foreign language speakers should seek the advice from an addiction professional in their area to choose a drug or alcohol rehabilitation facility which would be suitable to their needs.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment drug treatment facilities are an outstanding alternative to other types of rehab facilities i.e. private medical insurance and state funded programs. Individuals who are capable of attending self payment programs pay for their entire treatment process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug or alcohol rehabilitation program. To learn more about self payment programs, make contact with a drug or alcohol rehab program and inquire as to their payment options. It is beneficial to contact several facilities so that you have a comparison of your choices with regards to rehab options and payment options.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is accessible to people in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid is dependent on income and other factors including whether or not the individual has dependents and if they receive any other assistance. Medicaid may even cover the costs associated with drug or alcohol rehab, and there are many drug treatment programs throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Most drug and alcohol rehab facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only supply such treatment on a short term basis, typically 30 days or less. Individuals who have Medicaid should research which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to reap the full benefits of such a program.

State Financed Insurance besides Medicaid

Some individuals are covered through state financed insurance because they fail to meet the eligibility requirements for Medicaid. Some states however offer affordable health insurance to those who cannot afford private health insurance plans. State financed health insurance programs will sometimes cover the costs associated with substance abuse treatment at a wide variety of drug and alcohol treatment programs around the country. State financed insurance other than Medicaid may cover both inpatient or outpatient drug treatment services. To find out which rehabilitation facilities will accept state financed insurance, consult a drug treatment advisor.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug or alcohol treatment can be a challenge, because typically all resources have been exhausted due to their addiction. Many drug treatment programs recognize this fact which is why many drug rehabilitation programs across the nation offer payment arrangements known as a sliding scale fee. There are various factors put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug rehab programs would rather find a way to make it work financially so that those that need addiction help can get the help they need.
