Outpatient Treatment

Drug rehab services which are provided on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehab center. An outpatient drug and alcohol rehab program provides many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehabilitation center where the individual is expected to remain at the treatment program until treatment is complete. Outpatient drug treatment is also offered for those who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but require a comprehensive aftercare program which will provide additional support and therapy to help them avoid relapse.

Those who speak other languages should not feel that their treatment curriculum or treatment setting is going to be any less effective because they don't speak English. There are quite a few substance abuse treatment centers available which provide services to those who speak foreign languages, all of which offer various programs to choose from. For example, some drug and alcohol treatment facilities which cater to individuals who speak other languages are only short term programs, and others are longer term programs. Foreign language speakers can seek the advice from a treatment professional in their area to choose a drug or alcohol treatment facility that provides rehabilitation services in their specific language.

Self payment drug and alcohol treatment programs are an outstanding alternative to other types of treatment centers i.e. private medical insurance and state funded programs. Individuals who are capable of attending self payment programs pay for their entire treatment process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug or alcohol rehabilitation program. In order to learn more about self payment programs, contact a substance abuse treatment program and inquire as to their payment options. It is beneficial to contact several programs so that you have an understanding of your choices regarding rehab options and payment methods.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is made available to people in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid is dependent on income and other factors including whether or not the individual has dependents and if they receive any other assistance. Medicaid may possibly even cover the costs associated with drug rehab, and there are many drug treatment programs throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Many drug rehabilitation programs which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only supply such treatment on a short term basis, typically 30 days or less. People who have Medicaid should explore which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to reap the full rewards of such a program.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug treatment can be a problem, as all resources have been exhausted because of their addiction. Many drug rehab facilities understand this fact which is why many drug rehab programs around the country provide payment options known as a sliding scale fee. There are several variables put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug and alcohol treatment facilities would rather find a way to make it work financially so that those that need addiction help can receive the help they need.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many drug treatment facilities in the United States provide payment assistance to men and women suffering with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The person in need of rehabilitation can choose a rehabilitation program which is a good fit, meaning the treatment curriculum and design of the program would provide them the best results. The addicted individual can then consult with one of the treatment professionals at the drug rehab center to talk about what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug and alcohol treatment facilities are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will typically work with the individual to locate an equivalent or comparable rehab facility which is more affordable or that can offer workable financing options so that they can acquire the help they so desperately need.
