Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol treatment programs which are offered on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to participate in an inpatient rehabilitation facility. An outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation program delivers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehabilitation facility where the individual is expected to remain at the rehab program until treatment has been fully completed. Outpatient drug or alcohol rehab is also offered for those who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but also need a comprehensive aftercare program which will provide further support and therapy to help them remain clean and sober.

Co-Occurring Mental with Substance Abuse Issues

Persons with co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders must handle both issues in order to recover completely. Some people take drugs to relieve symptoms of mental health disorders, and some individuals take drugs which then, in turn, creates symptoms which mimic mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression. Addiction treatment professionals know how to distinguish between the two, and can work with clients to properly treat real mental health problems in tandem with any other substance abuse treatment that is done with the person. This has proven to be effective in keeping people with mental health disorders off of drugs and alcohol and mentally stable and healthy.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment drug rehabilitation centers are an outstanding alternative to other types of treatment programs i.e. private medical insurance and state funded programs. People who are capable of attending self payment programs pay for their entire treatment process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their substance abuse rehabilitation program. To learn more about self payment at a specific program, make contact with a drug treatment program and inquire as to their payment options. It is beneficial to contact several programs so that you have an understanding of your choices with regards to treatment options and payment methods.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is made available to people in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid is dependent on income and other circumstances such as whether or not the person has dependents and if they receive any other financial assistance. Medicaid may even cover the costs associated with drug treatment, and there are many drug and alcohol rehab facilities throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Most drug and alcohol rehab programs which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only supply such treatment on a short term basis, usually 30 days or less. Individuals who have Medicaid should research which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to reap the full benefits of such a program.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

When an individual is addicted to drugs or alcohol and is looking for help, there are many effective drug rehab facilities accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term rehab facilities accept private health insurance, far more beneficial substance abuse treatment facilities which offer an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These treatment programs which accept private health insurance can vary in terms of treatment curriculum, but those clients who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to attending a drug or alcohol rehab facility. For additional information, speak with with a treatment professional at a drug treatment facility in your area to see which programs your private health insurance will cover.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug treatment can be a problem, as all resources have been exhausted because of the persons drug habit. Many drug treatment programs recognize this fact which is why many drug and alcohol treatment facilities across the nation offer payment arrangements known as a sliding scale fee. There are many factors put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug and alcohol rehab facilities would prefer to find a way to make it work financially so that those suffering with addiction can acquire the help they need.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many drug rehabilitation centers in the United States offer payment assistance to men and women having difficulties with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The person in need of rehabilitation can select a treatment program which ideally fits their situation, meaning the treatment plan and design of the program would provide them the best results. The addicted person can then talk to one of the treatment professionals at the drug treatment program to go over what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug rehab programs are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will usually work with the individual to find an equivalent or comparable rehabilitation program which is more affordable or that can offer workable financing options so that they can get the help they so desperately need.
