Outpatient Treatment

Drug rehab services which are provided on an outpatient basis are available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehabilitation program. An outpatient drug rehabilitation center offers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug or alcohol rehabilitation program where the person is expected to stay and reside at the rehabilitation program until treatment is complete. Outpatient drug or alcohol rehabilitation is also available for those who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but require a comprehensive aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide further support and treatment to help them avoid relapse.

Spanish Services

There are more and more Spanish speaking clients enrolling into drug rehabilitation centers every day needing help. Because Spanish is such a common language in this country, many drug treatment facilities are capable of providing treatment to Spanish speaking clients. Additionally, many counselors and therapists make it a point to learn the language so as to be able to provide the treatment and therapy needed for Spanish speaking people.

Other Language Programs

Individuals who speak other languages, other than English that is, should be able to receive drug or alcohol treatment which is on par with English speakers. Speakers of other languages should not feel that their treatment curriculum or treatment setting is going to be any less effective because they don't speak English. There are quite a few drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers available which provide services to those who speak foreign languages, all of which provide a variety of programs to choose from. For example, some drug and alcohol rehab facilities which cater to those who speak other languages are only short term rehab facilities, and others are longer term programs. Foreign language speakers should seek the advice from an addiction professional in their area to choose a drug rehabilitation facility that provides rehabilitation services in their specific language.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment substance abuse treatment centers are a great alternative to other types of rehabilitation centers i.e. private medical insurance and state funded facilities. Individuals who are able to attend self payment programs pay for their entire rehabilitation process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug treatment program. In order to learn more about self payment programs, make contact with a substance abuse rehab program and inquire as to their payment options. It is beneficial to contact several facilities so that you have an understanding of your choices with regards to rehab options and payment methods.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is made available to individuals in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid depends greatly on income and other factors such as whether or not the individual has dependents and if they receive any other financial assistance. Medicaid may possibly even cover the costs associated with drug rehab, and there are a lot of drug and alcohol rehab programs throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Most drug and alcohol treatment facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only deliver a limited treatment curriculum and may only deliver such treatment on a short term basis, usually 30 days or less. People who have Medicaid should explore which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to acquire the full benefits of a Medicaid rehab program.

State Financed Insurance besides Medicaid

Some people are covered through state financed insurance because they do not meet the eligibility requirements for Medicaid. Some states however offer state financed health insurance to those who cannot afford private health insurance plans. State financed health insurance programs will sometimes cover the costs associated with substance abuse treatment at a variety of drug and alcohol treatment centers around the country. State financed insurance other than Medicaid may cover both inpatient or outpatient drug rehabilitation providers. To find out which treatment programs will accept state financed insurance, consult a drug and alcohol treatment advisor.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

When someone is abusing drugs or alcohol and is seeking help, many effective drug rehabilitation programs accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term rehab facilities accept private health insurance, far more effective drug or alcohol rehab programs which require an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These rehab facilities which accept private health insurance can vary in terms of treatment curriculum, but those people who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to paying for a drug rehab facility. For additional information, consult with an addiction specialist at a drug or alcohol treatment facility in your area to see which services your private health insurance will cover.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug rehab can be a challenge, as all resources have been exhausted due to the persons drug habit. Many drug rehab programs fully grasp this fact which is why many drug rehabilitation facilities around the country offer payment options known as a sliding scale fee. There are several factors put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug rehab facilities would prefer to find a way to make it work financially so that those suffering with addiction can get the help they need.
