Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol treatment programs which are delivered on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to participate in an inpatient rehab center. An outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation facility delivers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehabilitation center where the person is expected to remain at the rehab center until treatment is complete. Outpatient drug or alcohol rehab is also available for individuals who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but also need a comprehensive aftercare and relapse prevention program which will offer additional support and therapy to help them avoid relapse.

Criminal Justice Client Programs

Criminal justice clients frequently need drug or alcohol treatment due to problems with addiction. Due to the nature of the criminal justice system, there are specific steps and guidelines that must be completed in order to be admitted into a criminal justice drug or alcohol rehabilitation center or recovery program. The initial step is to determine the criminal justice clients eligibility. This step is completed by a panel of officials who determine how much and what type of drug is necessary. Often, the criminal justice clients obtain their drug treatment while they are incarcerated. For optimum results, they are encouraged, if not strictly directed, to continue their recovery once they leave jail and enroll in a sober living home or a therapeutic community.

Spanish Services

There are more and more Spanish speaking clients walking into drug and alcohol rehab centers every day needing help. Because Spanish is such a widespread language in this country, many substance abuse rehabilitation facilities are prepared to deliver treatment to Spanish speaking individuals. Additionally, many treatment professionals make it a point to learn the language so as to be able to provide the support and therapy needed for Spanish speaking clients.

Other Language Programs

People who speak other languages, other than English that is, should be able to receive substance abuse rehabilitation which is on par with English speakers. Speakers of other languages should not feel that their treatment curriculum or treatment setting is going to be any less effective because they don't speak English. There are quite a few drug and alcohol rehab programs available which provide services to those who speak foreign languages, all of which provide a variety of programs to choose from. For example, some substance abuse treatment facilities which cater to those who speak other languages are only short term programs, and others are longer term programs. Foreign language speakers should seek the advice from an addiction professional in their area to choose a drug or alcohol treatment facility that provides rehabilitation services in their specific language.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment drug rehab facilities are an outstanding alternative to other types of rehab facilities i.e. private medical insurance and state funded facilities. People who are capable of attending self payment programs pay for their entire rehab process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug or alcohol treatment program. To learn more about self payment at a specific program, contact a substance abuse rehabilitation program and inquire as to their payment options. It is beneficial to contact a number of facilities so that you have an understanding of your choices regarding rehab options and payment methods.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is offered to people in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid is dependent on income and other circumstances such as whether or not the person has dependents and if they receive any other assistance. Medicaid may even cover the costs associated with drug or alcohol rehab, and there are a lot of drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Most drug and alcohol rehab facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only deliver a limited treatment curriculum and may only supply such treatment on a short term basis, typically 30 days or less. Individuals who have Medicaid should look for which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to acquire the full rewards of a Medicaid rehab program.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

If someone is abusing drugs or alcohol and is looking for help, there are many effective drug or alcohol rehabilitation programs accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term programs accept private health insurance, far more beneficial drug treatment centers which offer an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These programs which accept private health insurance can vary in terms of treatment curriculum, but those clients who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to attending a drug treatment facility. For more information, speak with with an addiction specialist at a drug or alcohol treatment program in your area to see which services your private health insurance will cover.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug or alcohol rehabilitation can be a problem, as all resources have been exhausted because of their addiction. Many drug rehab programs fully grasp this fact which is why many drug treatment facilities around the country offer payment arrangements known as a sliding scale fee. There are several variables put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs would rather find a way to make it work financially so that those suffering with addiction can get the help they need.
