Outpatient Treatment

Drug rehab services which are provided on an outpatient basis are available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehab facility. An outpatient drug and alcohol treatment center offers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehabilitation program where the individual is expected to stay and reside at the rehab program until treatment is complete. Outpatient drug or alcohol treatment is also offered for individuals who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but also need a thorough aftercare program which will offer further support and treatment to help them avoid relapse.

Other Language Programs

People who speak other languages, other than English that is, should receive drug or alcohol rehabilitation which is on par with English speakers. Speakers of other languages should not feel that their treatment opportunities are limited or inferior because they don't speak English. There are many drug rehabilitation facilities available which provide services to those who speak foreign languages, all of which provide a variety of programs to choose from. For example, some drug and alcohol rehab programs which cater to individuals who speak other languages are only short term programs, and others are longer term programs. Foreign language speakers should seek the advice from a treatment professional in their area to choose a drug rehab program that provides rehabilitation services in their specific language.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment substance abuse rehabilitation facilities are a great alternative to other types of rehab programs i.e. private medical insurance and state funded facilities. People who are capable of attending self payment programs pay for their entire rehabilitation process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug rehab program. In order to learn more about self payment at a specific program, contact a drug or alcohol treatment facility and ask about their payment options. It is beneficial to contact several facilities so that you have an understanding of your choices regarding treatment options and payment options.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is offered to people in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid is dependent on income and other circumstances including whether or not the individual has dependents and if they receive any other assistance. Medicaid may even cover the costs associated with drug or alcohol treatment, and there are many drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Many drug and alcohol rehab programs which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only provide such treatment on a short term basis, usually 30 days or less. Individuals who have Medicaid should look for which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to acquire the full rewards of such a program.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

When someone is abusing drugs or alcohol and is seeking help, many effective substance abuse rehab programs accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term rehab facilities accept private health insurance, far more effective substance abuse rehab facilities which provide an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These treatment programs which accept private health insurance can vary in terms of treatment curriculum, but those clients who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to paying for a drug rehab program. Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug treatment can be a problem, as all resources have been exhausted because of the persons drug habit. Many drug treatment facilities recognize this reality which is why many drug rehabilitation programs across the nation provide payment options known as a sliding scale fee. There are several factors put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug rehab programs would rather find a way to make it work financially so that those suffering with addiction can receive the help they need.
