Limited Hospitalization/Day Treatment Programs

Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of treatment program which works to treat substance abuse problems and mental health conditions which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the individual in treatment participates in a variety of recovery activities and techniques during the day and then returns home in the evening. This takes place anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the seriousness of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be beneficial for addicted individuals who cannot afford long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be away from their families for prolonged periods of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals participate in typical counseling and therapy for addiction issues while also addressing mental health issues which could prevent them from making progress and obtaining gains throughout the treatment process.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment drug rehabilitation programs are an outstanding alternative to other types of rehabilitation facilities i.e. private medical insurance and state funded facilities. People who are capable of attending self payment programs pay for their entire rehabilitation process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug or alcohol rehab program. In order to learn more about self payment at a specific program, make contact with a drug or alcohol rehabilitation program and ask about their payment options. It is a good idea to contact several programs so that you have an understanding of your choices regarding rehab options and payment options.

Most drug treatment facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only provide such treatment on a short term basis, usually 30 days or less. Individuals who have Medicaid should research which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to reap the full benefits of a Medicaid rehab program.
